Terms of Service

Effective November 3, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Brook Baston, doing business as StrikeMyData ("we," "us") for your use of StrikeMyData (the "service"). By creating an account, you agree to them.

1. What the service does

The service sends requests to delete your personal information, and to stop selling or sharing it, to the data brokers and other businesses you select. It also tracks their responses and reminds you when to recheck. Some sites only accept requests through their own web forms. The service lists those so you can complete them yourself.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and live in the United States. The service isn't offered outside the United States.

3. Appointing us as your authorized agent

Before we send your first request, you sign this authorization:

I, [your full legal name], authorize Brook Baston, doing business as StrikeMyData to act as my authorized agent to submit, on my behalf, requests to delete my personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of my sensitive personal information, to the businesses I select, under the California Consumer Privacy Act and any other applicable state privacy law. I understand that a business may contact me directly to verify my identity or to confirm this authorization. This authorization remains in effect until I delete my account.

We act only on requests to the businesses you select, and only to delete your information or opt you out. We use your information only to carry out those requests, to verify your identity, and to prevent fraud. A business may ask you directly to confirm your identity or that you authorized us, and responding is up to you. You can withdraw the authorization at any time by deleting your account.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information and to submit requests only about yourself. Using the service to submit requests about another person, or with information that isn't yours, is prohibited and will result in account termination. You're responsible for keeping your password and recovery key safe. Because your data is encrypted with them, we can't reset your password for you.

5. Fees

The service is currently free. If that changes, we'll tell you before you're charged anything, and nothing you've already used will be charged.

6. No guarantee of results

We can't control what businesses do. Some may ignore or deny requests, ask for more verification, or re-list your information later. The service can't remove public records such as court or property records. Not every business is legally required to honor every request in every state.

7. Not legal advice

We aren't a law firm, and nothing in the service is legal advice. If you have a specific legal concern, consult a lawyer.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time, which ends the authorization and erases your stored information. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. Accounts with no login for 2 years are deleted automatically.

10. Disclaimers and limits of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date and show a notice when you next log in.

12. Transfer of the service

We may transfer the service, your account and these terms to a new owner, for example in a sale of the business, on at least 30 days' notice posted on the site and, for subscribers, emailed to the address on file with Stripe. The new owner takes on our obligations under these terms and our Privacy Policy, and your paid plan continues for the period you paid for. Your authorization appoints the business named in it, so after a transfer we'll ask you to sign a new one before sending further requests. If you don't want to continue with the new owner, you can delete your account, and a subscription you cancel before the transfer won't renew under the new owner.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
